These rides are really sociable and are held every Tuesday evening throughout the year and the event and route details will be published in the club events calendar. The routes are all on road and differ between Winter and Summer seasons. The end point of the ride is a pub where members can get more chance to socialise.
For the Summer season, a regular and a shorter route is available and rider groups for these can be organised at the meetup location.
Summer Routes use country lanes where possible and therefore are not designed for fast paced groups due to the poorer surfaces, narrow roads and tight corners etc.
Winter Routes are riden during the darker evenings and so are on main roads for safety reasons. These allow a faster paced ride.
The main ride is planned to be at a 14-16 mph pace (on the flat) but this is adjusted depending on numbers and rider abilities on the day. During Summer, attendance is large so several groups are organised, and there is always a group for every ability.
The recommendation is to use a road bike for these routes. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to give time if groups need to be organised.
NOTE FOR NEW RIDERS
If you are unsure of your ability/speed or are new to cycling please consider joining us on our Sunday Social Ride first.
