Male Club Member of the Year
Mark Lowe
Mark has excelled in the chairperson role, leveraging his professional experience and leadership skills to significantly improve the club's organisation. The role demands considerable time, with tasks requiring attention almost daily, yet Mark has also been outstanding in supporting fellow members on the committee. He has restructured the club's documentation, ensuring adherence to procedures with formal records that underpin the club's operations. While these efforts may go unnoticed outside the committee, they are crucial for the club's success and compliance, minimizing the risk of external liabilities. Mark's dedication is evident; he devotes substantial time to the club's success, also consistently serving as a race marshal and leading rides on Saturdays.
Jack Harrison
Currently Race Officer and is the organiser and inspiration for our members who race or who want to try racing at any level. He has put his own racing involvement on the back burner to promote the Belper BC race Programme.
Jack, along with his team, have not only embodied the spirit of our Club but have also gone above and beyond to ensure the success of one of our longest-running events, the Time Trial and now the Hill Climb. He ensures enough marshals are in attendance to guarantee the safety and smooth running of the event. Despite low attendance and terrible weather on occasions, he has made sure that every aspect of the event was thoroughly planned before, during, and after the event, coordinating logistics and ensuring that all safety protocols were in place, allowing participants to focus on their performance, knowing they were in good hands.
John Gott
John has been instrumental in putting on Friday ‘Members organised rides’ both road and gravel and opened them out to all and are very popular. He has often expanded this to mid-week as well as weekend gravel rides. He’s kind and very considerate of people’s abilities which makes these rides very popular and enjoyable for those who have the time flexibility to attend.
