Belper BC Time Trial Volunteers and Racers

Just a quick reminder that the time trials start next month! Sign up for all of them on the night - 6pm at the Fishermans Rest. Except for the open event on the 24th May: sign up via the CTT website only before the 13th of May: https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/race-details/24763

All events are in the events tab on the website, with details for each one.

Volunteer sign up:

For anyone wanting to volunteer to help, it is greatly appreciated!! Each event in the events tab has a link for volunteering and how many volunteers are needed or message me and i can add you onto the list!

- The call up vounteer is for anyone wishing to be a back up marshal should we need an extra last minute on the day

- No prior experience is needed to marshal and we will run through everything before you head to your post on the night!

- For anyone worrying about time keeping we are using a timing software that is foolproof and involves very little human input

Start line time keepers: be at the start line before 7 pm to put the event signage up, one person counts down and sets a rider off each minute in their numerical order, other marshal to organise the riders/keep an eye on the traffic/hold starting rider up if happy to do that

Mid point marshal: be at the hurt arms before 7 pm, ideally one marshal to be the mid point timer as riders go past, keep an eye on the junction traffic and be seen, cheer riders on!/photos/videos etc

Finish line Keepers: be at the finish line layby before 7 pm, set up finish line flags. One marshal to track the time of each finishing rider, one marshal to be the spotter to call out rider numbers as they come past, a third marshal if available to to be back up time keeper, if not enough spare marshals, finish line marshals will also help with sign on.
