Changes to the ‘Forum’ – (Members Community Area)

The Forum area on the web site and app was designed as a community area for all members to use and to post. In response to members feedback, the committee have decided to make changes in this area to bring it more centre stage. To facilitate this, these are the changes that will be made:

Web Site

1. The Forum page will show the most recent activity in a card/list format rather than posts being hidden inside the category hierarchies (change already made)

2. The Forum page link will be moved out of the ‘Members Area’ on the navigation bar and placed immediately after the ‘News Feed’ link on the navigation bar – you will still need to be logged in to access this page

3. The ‘News Feed’ link will be renamed to ‘Club News’ and the ‘Forum’ link will be renamed to ‘Members Posts’

4. The ‘News Feed’ page will be retitled to ‘Club News’

5. The ‘Forum’ page will be retitled to ‘Members Posts’

App

1. The Forum link on the navigation bar will be placed as the first entry (so it is always visible when the app is started / opened) – this first position will be trialled and may move to the second position depending on further feedback.

2. The 'News Feed' link will be renamed to 'Club News'

3. The ‘Forum’ link will be renamed to ‘Members Posts’

General

The Forum categories will remain because it:

• Helps the search/filtering for previous entries

• Helps the organisation of posts

• Allows notification alerts for the ones you follow

Summary

The ‘Club News’ page is restricted to a members with ‘writer’ roles and will continue to be a place where we can share our successes, achievements, activities with both members and the outside world (most of these are reposted to our club Facebook page). The ‘Members Posts’ page is a place where our members have a community area where they can freely post and share information with ALL members.
