A good attendance of club members and the general public for this really informative session given by Dr Ralph Emerson.
What a brilliant session, Dr Emerson explaining the latest techniques and teaching in such an entertaining and fun way. Not many of us knew the difference between a Cardiac Arrest and a Heart Attack - we do now!
We all left confident that we could identify a cardiac arrest, administer CPR and operate a defibrillator if one was available. The process was delivered using a stepped approach and repeated several times which should allow attendees to easily recall it if needed in the future. Most of us found time to practice our learnings on the dummies at the end of the session.
Dr Emerson was inundated with interesting questions and we all learned so much from the detailed answers. Would a hairy chest make the use of a defribilator difficult? What if the patient has a pacemaker?
Many thanks to Dr Emerson for the voluntary contribution he makes to this subject and Cheryl H for organising this event - we know it has taken a lot of time and effort to get this organised!
Thank you for the great feedback which I will certainly pass on and to all of those who attended 🙂
Couldn't attend today but would love to in the future should it come around again.
Completely agree - thanks very much to Chez and Dr Emerson. We all learned lots in a very short time. No28 the ideal venue too 👍
