Hard but fantastic

A warm morning greeted the Belper riders this weekend for the Saturday ride out to Ilam,  we were join again by the Middleton massive providing great company.   This week’s ride was a monumental 1500m of climbing over 80km and from the start, the group were greeted with hills, hills and a bit more hills until eventually hitting  Longcliffe where we had a great descent before turning to Parwich.  The café stop at the National Trust (Ilam) was great and the views over the valley were fantastic.  Cake, scones and decent coffee all delivered prompted by the staff was much appreciated and with fuel in the tank, we all set out home with the first stretch being straight up.

The route this week was fantastic, with some excellent stretches of smooth, uninterrupted tarmac providing a great weekend ride. We all arrived back at base exhausted and tired, but all in all, it was a great ride this weekend  on one of the best routes #NoOneLeftBehind
