Saturday riders to Ashbourne and Alton

Blessed with another glorious summers day, 21 riders met at the Triangle, 5 for the Inters route and 16 for the Experienced route with 2 groups forming for the latter. The inters went to Ashbourne Avaitor Cafe and the experienced to Alton and the Ramblers Retreat.

The Alton ride was eventful, firstly, Nathan had a puncture and some young cows came to help bringing with them a swarm of horse flies! Further down the road we were nearly crushed by stampeding cows being guarded closely by a large bull, not a day to be in club red kit colours! On the way home just after Brailsford a very angry driver tried to run us off a tiny country lane, swearing and quoting the Highway Code!

All in all a fun day and we all got home safely.
