The near end for Squirrel Nutkins

On another brisk autumn morning, Belper BC embarked on a bicycle journey from the Belper to the charming village of Sudbury for coffee and cake. This 70km adventure promised a scenic route through the flat south Derbyshire countryside with the group hoping to dodge any showers forecast for the day. The café stop did not disappoint and the lashing of sausage on my sandwich was reason enough to come.

Soon after leaving the café great

excitement and danger hit the group. First Squirrel Nutkins almost brought the farm with me and David exchanging expletives and amazed that we had both missed this dare devil. Next came a rapid descent when upon turning the bend we were greeted by a section of basically gravel track and holes.

The pace was fast, and in no time at all, home was in sight. With the last push of effort and as per tradition, a sprint was to be had down the A6 passed Moscow Farm to the Peacock and Elephant, this destroyed the collaborative group that had helped each other all the way around, but 5 mins from home its fair game.

Great ride and great company. #nooneleftbehind well except the last 2 miles

Stay safe and watch out for squirrels

Great shot! You should photoshop that and put it in for wildlife photographer of the year!
