Four brave souls decided to take a chance on what looked and felt like a very cold day's ride. The mist was rolling around the hills, and there was a chill in the air; however, as the ride progressed, the clouds and mist lifted to reveal a stunning, warm, sunny day, which stayed with the group throughout the rest of the ride.
The heavy rains of late played havoc on the roads, and ultimately, we came across what would’ve been considered a lake bed but was, in fact, a road. Without hesitation (well, not much), we peddled across the ‘lake’ and pressed on to East Leake. The water in the surrounding fields made the area look biblical, and one has to wonder at what point we all decide to build arcs and get prepared for the big flood. A good day was had by all, and although rather damp, the sunshine was out, the air was warm, and the sky was blue. All in all, it was an excellent ride. Good times and a hint of spring.
